The Long Island Progressive Coalitions PowerUp Communities Referral Program

The Long Island Progressive Coalition’s PowerUp Communities referral program provides homeowners who have completed the PowerUp Communities program in Nassau and Suffolk Counties a cash incentive for their referrals into the program. If a homeowner refers a friend or neighbor into PowerUp that results in a completed retrofit, that homeowner who made the referral has the opportunity to accept $100 and select a community organization or religious institution located to receive a $100 donation. Alternatively, the homeowner can choose to donate all $200 to that community organization!

The PowerUp Referral Program also presents the opportunity for local organizations/religious institutions to fundraise $200 donations directly. For every homeowner who completes the program after hearing about PowerUp through a non-profit organization, that organization automatically receives the $200 referral! The organization could host a presentation given by PowerUp Communities, include a blurb in their newsletter, or encourage their members to attend a Power Up event. Any homeowner who is referred to the program through that organization and completes a retrofit will have $200 donated in their name back to that organization.

As of February 2014, PowerUp has raised over $2300 for local organizations. Working together we can raise thousands more!

The $200 referral incentive is provided by a participating PowerUp Communities contractor. The community based organization or congregation must be located within Nassau and Suffolk Counties. The address provided for the organization must therefore be within these territories and may NOT be a PO Box. Additionally, the organization of choice cannot be a political organization. All religious institutions are allowed but must be located directly on Long Island.
